Casa dos Cebolais

De um velho palheiro de xisto foi construída uma casa.

A ideia era reaproveitar toda a pedra de xisto dos edifícios antigos como revestimento, tendo também sido dinamitada uma pedra mãe de xisto para utilização no revestimento da construção.

A implantação existente foi mantida, de forma a abraçar o terreno de costas para o terreno vizinho.

A vida da casa acontece numa zona mesclada quer para refeições, quer para lazer. Acima do volume da cozinha foi possível abrir um belíssimo mezanine graças ao pé-direito de toda a divisão.

Esta mezanine tem uma ampla vista sobre a sala e uma janela que se abre para a paisagem beirã, entrecortada por colinas e vales onde se desenham oliveiras.

O volume dos quartos à esquerda da sala permite uma separação discreta entre as áreas públicas e privadas. Nos quartos, onde se destacam as antigas conversadeiras, que tansmitem privacidade mas ao mesmo tempo acolhedores.

A casa integra-se na paisagem, permitindo uma camuflagem natural.

From an old shale haystack, a house was built.

The idea was to reuse all the shale stone from the old buildings as a coating, and a shale stone mother rock was also dynamited to use in the construction's coating.

The existing implantation was maintained, in order to embrace the land with its back to the neighboring land.

The life of the house happens in a merged area either for meals or for leisure. Above the kitchen volume, it was possible to open a beautiful mezzanine thanks to the ceiling height of the entire division.

This mezzanine has a beautiful view over the living room and a window that opens onto the Beira landscape, crisscrossed by hills and valleys where olive trees are drawn.

The volume of the rooms to the left of the living room allows for a discreet separation between the private and public areas. In the bedrooms, where the old chatseats stand out, conveying privacy but at the same time welcoming.

With the use of local stone, the house was able to blend into the landscape, allowing for a natural camouflage.
